Serena Mah is an experienced media trainer and she draws on two decades as a reporter, anchor, and producer at two Canadian networks, CBC and CTV. She knows how and why media choose their stories and she shares her knowledge so partners can make the perfect pitch through storytelling for earned media.
As a former political specialist, she is passionate about changing the conversation by infusing diverse voices.
This workshop is ideal for anyone or any organization wanting to inspire their inner storyteller.
With drastic cuts to media budgets journalists are doing more with less. Getting in the news is harder than ever. We give you practical tips and media training to cut through the noise so your story gets the lift it needs.
What you think is a good story may not necessarily catch the interest of the media. What are the elements of a good story? What do you need to know to share your story effectively with the media. When is a good time to share your story?
A well written press release will spotlight your story in the media, how and when you pitch it is also important. How do you pitch a story? How do you write a press release? You have the media’s attention, now what?
This one day workshop is ideal for those who are committed to enhancing and polishing their public speaking skills. We work on interview techniques with easy tips to keep you on track so your key messages are delivered with impact.
Throughout this one-day workshop Serena will guide you through the process of developing your personal brand. With her guidance, you will learn skills and best practices that will elevate your storytelling by focusing on:
1) Storytelling & Social Media
3) Interview Techniques

Ready. Set. READ! is Edmonton Public Library's early literacy program that sends books to children all over Edmonton from the day they are born to the time they reach 5 years old.
Every month, each child in the program receives a new, age-appropriate book, waiting for them in their mailbox. These books are theirs to keep, and together we build up their very own personal library.
Our team was delighted and thrilled to donate our time to this important project to make literacy more readily available. Consider donating to EPL's Ready. Set. READ! program this Giving Tuesday.
